The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has reconstituted the Advisory Committee on Alternative Investment Policy (AIF). This committee advises the market regulator on various issues related to the AIF sector.
As per the latest ‘update’ released by SEBI, now the strength of this committee is 20.
SEBI had constituted this committee in March 2015. Earlier this committee had 22 members. So far this committee has submitted three reports on the alternative investment industry.
The committee is headed by Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy.
Besides Murthy, the committee includes members from SEBI, finance ministry, AIF companies and industry associations.
According to SEBI, the members of the committee include Gopal Srinivasan of TVS Capital Funds, Gopal Jain, co-founder and managing partner of Gaza Capital, Vipul Rungta, MD and CEO, HDFC Capital Advisors, Renuka Ramnath, chairperson of Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. Huh.
Also on the committee are Prashant Khemka, founder and partner of White Oak Capital Management, Gautam Mehra, partner at PwC, Subramaniam Krishnan, partner at Ernst & Young, Deepak Ranjan, Deputy Director, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Vice-President of Association of Investment Bankers of India. Chairman Mahavir Lunavat and Sebi Executive Director Sujit Prasad.
