SBM Bank India has disclosed plans to sell a 26% stake as part of a strategy to support its operational expansion. The bank has appointed a consultant and has entered the Expression of Interest phase.
The parent company, SBM Bank Mauritius, is already investing capital for growth and supports SBM Bank India’s objective of pursuing robust credit expansion and enhancing its digital services.
For investors and regulators, the move signals potential changes in the bank’s ownership structure and capital framework as it pursues growth backed by ongoing capital investment from its Mauritius parent.
