State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an alert for its customers that if they have not linked their Aadhaar card with PAN, get it done immediately. The deadline for linking Aadhaar with PAN is about to end. If you do not link your Aadhaar with PAN before the stipulated time limit, then your PAN card will be cancelled. In such a situation, you will not be able to do high value transactions.
Get the link done before 31st March
SBI said from its official Twitter handle that if you want to avoid any inconvenience and want to use your account without any deadlock, then link your PAN with Aadhaar. The bank said that it is mandatory to link PAN with Aadhaar. Otherwise, you will not be able to do bank transactions above a certain limit.

The government has fixed March 31, 2022 as the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar.
How to link PAN with Aadhaar
To link PAN with Aadhaar, you must first visit the official website of Income tax website https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal. Here you will see the Link Aadhaar option, click on it. After this a new page will open, where you will have to fill the required details. If you have only year of birth in your Aadhaar card, then tick the box of ‘I have only year of birth in aadhaar card’,. After successfully verifying your details with UIDAI, your PAN-Aadhaar linking will be completed.

Aadhaar PAN through an SMS, an SMS has to be sent to 567678 or 56161. SMS in this format UIDAIPAAN (12digit Aadhaar number) space (10 digit PAN number) means if someone has Aadhaar card number ABCDXXXXXXXXXX and PAN card number ABCXXXXXXX then the SMS format will be “UIDAIPANABCDXXXXXXXXXX ABCXXXXXXX”.
PAN is necessary for many works
Having a PAN card is a must for many important tasks like opening a bank account, buying mutual funds or shares and even doing cash transactions above Rs 50,000. However, all such inoperative PAN cards will become operative when the PAN card holder does the work of PAN-Aadhaar linking.
