The Sales Tax Department conducted a survey on Thursday at the Rukmani Jewelers showroom located in Makoba Complex on the city’s Hospital Road. In this, Rs 9.31 lakh including arrears and penalty was recovered from the businessman.
This survey was conducted on the instructions of the department under the leadership of GST Deputy Commissioner Jalore Prakash Kumar, which lasted for about six and a half hours. During the survey, the purchase and sale bills of the firm were matched and the audit report was checked. On the information of this survey, many businessmen of the city got into a panic and kept the shops closed throughout the day. Some businessmen of the city have expressed the possibility of hawala business here.
Our business is growing, so they are making up stories
Chhagan Mali of Rukmani Jewelers said that our family operates 5 branches including Ahor, Jalore, Sayla and Ahmedabad. The oldest shop in Ahor is in the name of Rukmani Jewelers. Also, our business is growing and many businessmen do not like this. That is why they are talking about hawala business. Also, the department should not have taken action on the day of Guru Pushya Nakshatra.
