Justice Ravindra Vithalrao Ghuge took the oath as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. West Bengal Governor R N Ravi administered the oath of office.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose attended the ceremony.

Justice Ghuge previously served as a judge and acting chief justice of the Bombay High Court. He began his legal practice at the Bombay High Court in 1990.
