Union Government today said, there is no proposal as of now to provide reservation to transgender people in education or jobs.
The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 mandates the Central and State governments to take up schemes that address the issues of access of transgender persons to health, education, welfare, shelter and economic support for livelihoods. Mr Gehlot said, a scheme is being formulated for addressing these issues which includes skill upgradation of transgenders.
