Nirmala Sitharaman in US: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India is planning to set up 75 digital banks this year. He said that apart from banking, there is also a plan to set up a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC). He said these things while addressing the think tank Atlantic Council in Washington DC.

These banks will be opened in 75 districts

It is worth noting that even before this, Nirmala Sitharaman had talked about setting up 75 digital banks in 75 districts of the country. Sitharaman said that before the pandemic, India rapidly increased digitization and we came up with the program of financial inclusion, which has not been seen anywhere in the world before.

Distinguished Internationally

India’s three largest public digital platforms Aadhaar, UPI and Covin appeared in front of the world. This gave India a special recognition at the international level. Significantly, while Aadhaar is the largest unique digital identity, UPI is the largest digital payment app. More than 150 crore vaccinations have been done in the country through Kovin. Sitharaman said that the digital program has made the life of people of every section a lot easier.
