HPCL Advisory: Ensuring Steady LPG Supply
HPCL announced that there are some irregularities and shortages of fuel in few states but assured that there is no shortage of LPG in the country and the supply is adequate and going on uninterrupted. The Company has warned against the avoidable panic buying and stock piling of LPG and has stated that stringent action will be taken against the black marketing and irregularities in LPG distribution.

The Indian Oil also in the meantime has clarified that it shall continue to ensure supply of Indane Gas LPG Cylinders to cater to cooking needs of all its consumers on a continuous basis.

- LPG Gas Cylinders Lock-In Period
Rule – 1: As a part of LPG Gas Cylinders Lock-In Period revised policy, the lock-in period has now been reduced to 25 days for Urban Areas and 45 days for Rural Areas to manage LPG supply in a better manner than the earlier lock-in period of 21 days. - OTP-Based LPG Delivery
OTP-Based LPG Delivery – One Time Password generated for secure LPG delivery. OTP is sent on customer’s registered mobile number. Customer has to share OTP with delivery personnel for LPG cylinder delivery. - Update Your Mobile Number
Ensure that your mobile number is updated with your gas provider to receive your LPG cylinder delivery without any inconvenience. - Biometric Aadhaar Authentication for LPG Connection
Aadhaar Based Authentication using Biometric is mandatory for new connections of all PMUY beneficiaries through e-KYC. If your e-KYC is not yet completed, please complete the process at the earliest. - Deadline to Switch to PNG
A deadline of 30th June 2016 has been fixed by the Government for shifting of households having LPG facilities to Piped Natural Gas (PNG). After this date households having LPG connections shall not be entitled to apply for new LPG connections. Already allotted connection shall also be liable to be cancelled. - Online Booking and Alternative Options
Similarly, people are requested to book their LPG requirements online so as to avoid queuing up. Alternative mediums of cooking like PNG connection, electric cookstoves, induction cooktops etc. are being promoted by the government to make cooking an easy task and to ensure that cooking gas is made available to all households.
