Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating entrepreneurship in J&K valley and as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava’, Manoj Kumar, Chairman, KVIC today distributed 200 electric Potter wheels to the pottery artisans and 12 Hydra Pulper Machines to Paper Machine artisans at PMTC Pampore and 40 pedals operated Agarbatti machines to Agarbatti making artisans of Jammu region virtually through Video Conferencing.

Shri Manoj Kumar said that these artisans have taken training at PMTC (Product, Marketing and Training Centre) Pampore & these improved implements will help them to reduce drudgery in their work and will make them self-reliant. He also said that the schemes of the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India implemented by KVIC are for empowerment of the local artisans and youth and KVIC will work for creating self-employment opportunities in the State. He further said that the motto of KVIC is “Har Hath Ko Paisa – KVIC ki Scheme Se”. Shri Manoj Kumar also interacted with the artisans and motivated them to work diligently. Inauguration of newly built Gandhi Park at PMTC Pampore was also done by Chairman KVIC. This Gandhi Park is dedicated to Gandhi’s life and contains all important milestones of Gandhi Ji’s life. KVIC chairman also visited Kashmir valley. During his visit Mr Manoj Kumar called on Hon’ble LG at Raj Bagh where he discussed various initiatives taken by KVIC for the people of J&K in the form of various schemes implemented by KVIC.

Mr Manoj Kumar also paid his maiden visit to the Product, Marketing and Training Centre (PMTC) at Pampore, Pulwama, South Kashmir. The centre is providing training for various vocational jobs like stitching, embroidery especially for women and courses like Beekeeping. His visit concluded after meeting with representatives of Khadi Institutions of Kashmir Valley. Among others present were J.K Gupta (Dy. CEO – NZ, KVIC), Sh. Sanjeev Poswal (Director-Publicity, KVIC), SP Khandelwal (State Director J&K, KVIC) and Anil Kumar Sharma (Principal, PMTC, KVIC, Pampore).
