In a significant display of devotion, Sanjiv Goenka, the Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group and owner of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, donated gold ornaments valued at ₹3.63 crore to the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala.
The donation, which took place on Friday, May 16, 2025, included intricately designed gold “Kati” and “Varada Hasthams” (hand ornaments depicting specific postures of deities). These ornaments, weighing approximately 5.267 kilograms, were studded with precious diamonds and gemstones, adding to their exquisite beauty and value.
The formal handover ceremony occurred at the Ranganayakula Mandapam within the temple complex. The gold ornaments were received by the Additional Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary. Sanjiv Goenka was accompanied by his family during this spiritual visit, underscoring the personal significance of this offering.
Following the donation, Sanjiv Goenka expressed his profound satisfaction, stating, “Truly blessed to have a divine darshan at Tirupati Devasthanam today.”
