India has reached the 51st position among the countries of the world in terms of annual increase in house prices. In the October-December quarter of 2021-22, house prices in the country have increased by 2.1 per cent.
India has jumped five rankings to the 51st position in the global list of housing prices in the October-December quarter, said a Knightfrank report. India was ranked 56th in the same quarter of 2020.
The report said that in January-March of 2020, there was an increase of two percent in the prices of houses in India. However, it declined by 1.9 per cent in the second quarter. After that, prices were up 2.4 per cent in the third quarter of 2020 and 3.6 per cent in the fourth quarter. At the same time, the prices of houses in the country increased by 1.6 percent in the first quarter of 2021 and 0.5 percent in the second quarter.
