HDFC Bank’s Infinia credit cardholders will face new limits on redeeming reward points for Apple products and Tanishq vouchers via the HDFC SmartBuy platform. Currently, there is no cap on how many Apple products can be redeemed using points. However, starting October 1, cardholders will only be able to redeem points for one Apple product per quarter. The quarters are broken into January-March, April-June, July-September, and October-December.

HDFC will limit the redemption of reward points for Tanishq vouchers to 50,000 points per quarter, also starting from October 1. These caps on redemptions may impact frequent users of the Infinia card, particularly those who leverage points for premium purchases.

HDFC Infinia credit card is a premium card targeted at high-net-worth individuals, offering luxurious benefits such as unlimited airport lounge access and a strong rewards program. Cardholders earn 5 reward points for every ₹150 spent, which can be redeemed for products like flights, hotels, Apple products, and Tanishq jewelry.

ICICI Bank will also implement changes on October 1, 2024, for its debit cardholders. The new rules will apply to access to complimentary airport lounges. To unlock this benefit, cardholders must spend at least ₹10,000 in the preceding quarter. For instance, to gain lounge access from October to December 2024, customers must have spent ₹10,000 between July and September 2024.
