7th Pay Commission: Government employees in Madhya Pradesh will be given dearness allowance similar to the center from April. This is nothing less than good news for the employees before Holi. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on his birthday on Saturday that from April this year, dearness allowance (DA) to government employees of the state will be given at the rate of 31 percent at the same rate as the Centre. At present, the government employees of the state are getting 20 percent DA.

With this announcement of the Chief Minister, there will be an increase of 11 percent in the DA of about seven lakh employees of the state. Chouhan said that due to Kovid, the DA of government employees, which we used to increase immediately, could not increase during the Corona period. But now the DA of government employees will be increased to 31 percent and it will start being paid from April.

Announcement before budget session

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said this while addressing a program organized on his birthday at Shri Barhwale Ganesh Mandir located at Vidisha district headquarters. Chouhan has made this announcement two days before the budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly starting from March 7. In this session, the opposition party Congress is going to raise the demand for restoration of old pension scheme for state government employees like Rajasthan.

It is known that in the budget last month, the Congress government in Rajasthan announced the restoration of the old pension scheme for its employees appointed on and after January 1, 2004. Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Jaivardhan Singh wrote a letter to the state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan last week, demanding restoration of the old pension scheme for state government employees like in Rajasthan.

After writing the letter, Congress leader Jaivardhan Singh had said that we are going to raise this issue vigorously in the budget session of the assembly. Our leader Kamal Nath ji is going to raise this issue and if the demand is not met then it will be a major election issue in the 2023 Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. He had said that the state government employees play an important role in the development of the state. State government employees are feeling insecure due to the new pension policy implemented in 2005.
