Allows smooth passage of GST cuts from 22nd Sept on existing stocks
Consumer Affairs dept under Legal Metrology Act permits Cos to continue with old MRP, labelling and packaging till 31st dec
Protects consumer interest by asking Cos to ensure passage of benefits by reducing the selling price as per GST cuts
To facilitate the lower selling price; Cos will have to mandatorily publish the new pricing through ads in newspapers and via notices to dealer/distributors and legal metrology dept
