According to the news of PTI, the commercial vehicle company Ashok Leyland aims to expand its EV portfolio as well as prepare new engines keeping in mind the changing needs of domestic and international markets. Ashok Leyland executive chairman Dheeraj Hinduja says that we are coming up with a manufacturing plant and research and development center in Spain and plan to expand it further in the next few years.

EV plants to be set up soon

Hinduja further said that I am sure that very soon we will also need a separate plant. Our management team is looking into this. He further said that we are looking at all the opportunities and options available at the present time. However, no deadline has been announced for how long this plant will take.

Brand new commercial vehicle launch plan

Hinduja also said, “With a switch perspective, we are also looking at the production of a new range of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs). However, this will be for the markets of Europe, UK and America. He further said that from the perspective of the switch, we will be able to start production of electric LCVs in the fourth quarter of 2022.
