Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Credit Officer of Bank of India, Shahabad Branch, Hardoi (UP) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000/- from the complainant.

A case was registered by CBI on 28.02.2025 against said accused on allegations that accused demanded a bribe @ 10% of loan amount i.e. Rs.50,000/- from complainant for processing/passing loan of Rs.5,00,000/- in the name of his wife’s beauty parlour. The loan had been applied under the CM Youth Employment Scheme. The accused, allegedly, threatened to reject the said loan application in the event of non-payment of bribe.

CBI laid a trap and caught accused Credit Officer red-handed while demanding and accepting negotiated bribe amount of Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant. Later, accused person was arrested and will be produced before the Court of Learned Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Court No. 5, Lucknow.

Investigation is continuing.
