Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 49-runs, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. MI, powered by a Rohit Sharma 80 and a quickfire knock of 47 by Suryakumar Yadav, set a 196-run target after KKR won the toss and elected to field. Japrit Bumrah, James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar and Trent Boult did the job with the ball for MI, grabbing two wickets each, as KKR batsmen struggled to convert their starts. KKR face SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next match on September 26. This was
MI’s second match. They lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the season opener. Meanwhile, this was KKR’s first match of the campaign. MI face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on September 28.
