    • Inability to file income tax returns.
    • Disruption in banking transactions.
    • Challenges in accessing investments and loans.
    • TDS/TCS (Tax Deducted at Source/Tax Collected at Source) deducted at higher rates.
    • Tax refunds may not be processed.
    • Bank accounts and demat accounts could be frozen.
  • PAN 2.0 Initiative: The Income Tax Department has rolled out “PAN 2.0,” a significant upgrade to the PAN system. This initiative aims for a fully paperless, streamlined, and technology-driven process. Key features of PAN 2.0 include:
    • QR Code: New e-PAN cards issued under PAN 2.0 feature a secure QR code for quick and accurate identity validation, minimizing fraud risks.
