It has been a month since the new Income Tax Portal was launched, but so far its technical shortcomings have not been overcome. The Finance Minister had also reviewed the functioning of this portal two weeks ago. Chartered Accountants (CAs) say that many things on this portal such as e-processing and digital signature certificates are yet to start functioning.
Apart from this, some foreign companies are also facing technical difficulties in logging on to the portal since inception, he added. They are not able to file income tax return of previous years. Not able to download intimation notice for assessment year 2019-20 and earlier years. Also, Form-3 under Vivad se Vishwas scheme is not visible on the portal.
“The tab related to e-processes is not fully functional. Online correction option is not available. JSON facility is not available for filing Income Tax Return in 5, 6, 7. Like the previous website, this portal does not have any tab to give comprehensive information about Vivad se Vishwas. Also there is no information about pending action tab.
Form 15CA/CB Utility is not available. Though it is allowed to be filled in physically, it is quite a time-consuming process.
