ED Restitutes Properties Valued at Rs. 20.21 Crore in Money Laundering Case

ED, Jalandhar Zonal Office, has restituted six attached immovable properties valued at approx. Rs. 20.21 Crore (value as per sale deed however present market value of the restituted properties is approximate Rs. 50 Crore) under PMLA, 2002 to the State Bank of Patiala and Catholic Syrian Bank vide order dated 06.02.2026 of Hon’ble Special PMLA Court, Mohali. The said properties were attached under the provisions of PMLA, 2002, in the case of M/s Nature Heights Infra Limited and its Director Neeraj Thatai @ Neeraj Arora in connection with a money laundering investigation related to defrauding of investors. The attached immovable properties for which restitution has been allowed by the Hon’ble Court include commercial properties located in the district of Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab.

Rs. 20.21 Crore (value as per sale deed however present market value of the restituted properties is approximate Rs. 50 Crore) under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 to the State Bank of Patiala and Catholic Syrian Bank vide order dated 06.02.2026 of Hon’ble Special PMLA Court, Mohali. The said properties were attached under the provisions of PMLA, 2002, in the case of M/s Nature Heights Infra Limited and its Director Neeraj Thatai @ Neeraj Arora in connection with a money laundering investigation related to defrauding of investors. The attached immovable properties for which restitution has been allowed by the Hon’ble Court include commercial properties located in the district of Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab.

ED initiated investigation under the provisions of PMLA, 2002, on the basis of multiple FIRs registered by Punjab Police under various sections of India Penal Code, 1860 against Neeraj Thatai @ Neeraj Arora & his company M/s Nature Heights Infra Limited and others for defrauding investors.

ED investigation revealed that Neeraj Thatai @ Neeraj Arora had duped a large number of innocent investors of their hard-earned money on the pretext of allotment of properties. It was found that the properties purchased by Neeraj Thatai @ Neeraj Arora were registered/bought through money collected from investors without providing them with land or refund/returning of money. Many of the bank accounts of Neeraj Thatai @ Neeraj Arora, M/s Nature Heights Infra Limited and group companies had been credited with hard-earned money of investors and utilized for purchase of properties and for personal expense.

During the course of investigation in this matter, provisional attachment of assets valued at Rs. 46.02 Crore approx. including bank balances & agriculture/commercial land located at various locations in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan was undertaken which has been confirmed by the Hon’ble Adjudicating Authority for PMLA. ED had arrested Neeraj Thatai @ Neeraj Arora on 08.10.2024 and is currently in judicial custody. Prosecution Complaint and a Supplementary Prosecution Complaint has also been filed in this case dated 29.10.2020 and 05.12.2024 respectively.
