Indian airline Air India fears that if Pakistan’s airspace remains closed for a year, it may have to bear an additional cost of about Rs 50 billion. According to news agency Reuters, Air India has demanded compensation from the central government to cover this loss.
According to the report, Tata Group-owned Air India wrote in a letter to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, “Subsidy is a good, verifiable and reasonable option for the affected international flights. The subsidy can be removed when the situation improves.”
Due to the closure of Pakistani airspace, flights from North India to Europe, Canada and America, etc. Western countries are getting affected. Now these flights have to take a longer route, due to which the journey takes more time and fuel is also spent more.
