Ethanol blending in Petrol will be increased from existing 8.5% to 20% by 2025: Union Petroleum Minister

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while responding to a question in Rajya Sabha Informed that the target year for achieving 20 per cent ethanol blending in petrol which was initially kept as 2030 has been further reduced by 5 more years to 2025. Ethanol blending in Petrol will be increased from existing 8.5 per cent to 20 per cent by 2025. He said the initiative will not only to a great extent save the country from the burden of importing fuel oil but will also provide a sustainable income model for many farmers.
