BAP MLA Bribery Scandal: Last Sunday, there was a stir in Rajasthan politics when Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) MLA from Bagidora (Banswara) Jaikrishna Patel red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh. After this, a new twist came in the case on Monday when the entire bribe amount of Rs 20 lakh, which was hidden by burying it in the ground, was recovered.

With the help of ACB’s vigilance and mobile surveillance, the layers of this corruption were revealed one by one and now the entire incident has come to light.

Bribe money found buried in the ground

Let us tell you, on May 4, when the ACB team reached the MLA’s Jyotinagar residence in Jaipur for a trap, a person fled from there with the bribe money. After this, ACB caught Jaswant, a relative of the accused, through mobile surveillance and interrogated him.

After this, Jaswant told that he had taken money from the MLA’s nephew Rohit. Then he had to hand over this money to Jagram, a resident of Indira Gandhi Nagar, Jaipur, who was told that the property deal has not been done, hide the money. Jagram and Jaswant together buried this entire money in the ground. On Monday, the ACB team raided the house of accused Jagram and recovered the entire Rs 20 lakh buried in the ground.

ACB had taken the series of notes earlier
It is being told that ACB left no stone unturned in this entire trap operation. They first reached the bank with the complainant and took 4 thousand notes of the same series of 500 rupees each. This made it easy to identify the notes and it was also possible to track the bribe amount.

MLA and relatives on remand

Let us tell you that on Monday, MLA Jaikrishna Patel and his cousin were presented in the special court of Jaipur. The court has sent both of them on 2-day police remand. Now the ACB will present them in the court again on May 7. While coming out of the court, the MLA declared himself innocent and told the media that I am being framed, I did not take any bribe.

But ACB has solid evidence like the bribe amount, the conversation of the accused and the video footage related to the trap. At the same time, it has also come to light that ACB has seized all the CCTV footage of the MLA quarters. FSL investigation of the server room will be done so that it can be ascertained whether any footage was deleted during the trap.
