Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the Grand Vitara by the end of September. But from the very first launch, its demand in the market remains tremendous. Giving information, Maruti said that it has received 53,000 bookings for this new compact SUV so far.
In these bookings, 23000 are for the Strong Hybrid variant. 2 out of 5 buyers are opting for the strong hybrid variant of the Grand Vitara. The Grand Vitara will replace the S-Cross in Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa line-up. The booking of the Grand Vitara can be done by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.
Highest mileage claim in the segment-
Maruti has not revealed the price of Grand Vitara. However, its initial ex-showroom price can be Rs 9.50 lakh. Maruti Suzuki claims that it will give the highest mileage of 27.97 kmpl in its segment.
Grand Vitara Features-
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara features panoramic sunroof, heads-up display, wireless charger, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree parking camera, ambient lighting, front ventilated seats, keyless entry, rear AC vents, one push to start/stop engine Features like buttons, USB port, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support have been provided.
Grand Vitara Engine-
Both Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have jointly developed the Highrider and Grand Vitara. Like the highrider, the Grand Vitara has a mild-hybrid powertrain. This is a 1462cc K15 engine that generates around 100 bhp power at 6,000 RPM and 135 Nm torque at 4400 RPM.
It gets a mild hybrid system and is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. This powertrain is also the only engine with AWD option till date.
