NPCI Connectivity with C-Edge Technologies Restored After Ransomware Incident
On 1st August 2024, NPCI connectivity with C-Edge Technologies Ltd. was successfully re-established following a comprehensive security review conducted by an independent forensic auditing firm. The investigation confirmed that the impacted systems had been effectively isolated by C-Edge, mitigating the potential spread of the ransomware. Additionally, the auditor conducted necessary security reviews and scans to ensure the cleanliness of the rest of the infrastructure.
It was ascertained that the impact of the ransomware incident was limited to C-Edge systems hosted in their data center and did not affect any of the cooperative banks or regional rural banks’ own infrastructure. As a result of the swift actions taken, the services of cooperative banks and regional rural banks, which were dependent on C-Edge, have now been fully restored. This means that respective banks are once again able to offer a full range of services seamlessly to their customers, just as they did before the incident.
This successful re-establishment of connectivity marks a significant milestone in the restoration of normal operations and the continued security of the banking infrastructure.
