In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Income Tax Department’s Investigation Directorate in the North East Region has deployed various monitoring teams across Assam.
The Monitoring Teams have been tasked with ensuring the elections are conducted freely, fairly, and transparently. They will monitor the movement of unaccounted cash and its potential role in influencing the election process, adhering to guidelines and mandates issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
These teams include a 24×7 Control Room, Rapid Action Teams, District Monitoring Teams, and Air Intelligence Units at all airports in the state with the objective of preventing the use of black money in the electoral process. The Monitoring Teams are tasked with ensuring the elections are conducted freely, fairly, and transparently, following the Election Commission of India’s guidelines.
