Hyderabad: The income-tax department has served notice to several temples in Telangana asking the managements to pay their pending taxes immediately.

Responding to the notices, endowments minister A. Indrakaran Reddy said that they would stage a protest against the BJP government at the Centre for utilising the I-T department to target Telangana temples. The income-tax department was deliberately serving notices on Telangana temples, he alleged.
