US Court Dismisses Criminal

A US federal court has permanently dismissed criminal charges against Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani and former Adani Green CEO Vneet Jaain.

The case, filed in November 2024, involved allegations of a $250 million bribery scheme linked to solar power contracts in India. Prosecutors had also accused the group of misleading investors while raising more than $3 billion through US markets. The Adani Group denied the allegations.

The US Justice Department later sought dismissal, citing jurisdictional and evidentiary challenges and other concerns. Judge Nicholas Garaufis approved the request with prejudice, meaning the charges cannot be brought again.

The case ended before trial, with no judicial findings on the underlying allegations. Adani welcomed the decision, saying his faith in “truth, fairness and the rule of law” remained unwavering.
